A True Gainesvillian! Born and raised in Alachua County. A product of the Alachua County school system until 6^th grade. I started attending PK Yonge EDS at that time and that is where I graduated from. After graduating from PK, I attended Howard University located in Washington DC on an athletic scholarship, becoming a member of the Hall of Fame 87’ football team. Majoring in business administration, I went on to manage businesses for absentee owners, primarily restaurants. bars and night clubs. During this time, I lived in Washington DC, Miami, Atlanta and Charlotte NC.

 While at Howard, I was in need of a summer job while I was attending summer school. I went to meet with my senator’s office at the request of a friend and ended up getting a highly coveted summer intern position with my senator at the time, “The Honorable “Lawton Childs”. Proud moments while there included meeting John Glenn, Ted Kennedy and escorting Elizabeth Taylor to the senate floor for her to do a presentation to congress.  

I returned home to Gainesville about 13 years ago to be closer to family, take care of an ageing mother and to see my son through middle and high school. In an effort to give back and be hands on with my son’s development, I became a football coach to try to influence the lives of other young men.

I enjoy anything dealing with water, fishing, swimming, or cooling down in one of our local springs. I also enjoy being on the golf course, playing pool, listing to live music, especially jazz.
