Jamie has always been active in community service. She has a passion for helping those with the greatest need and has a special focus on helping children in all areas. In 2006 Jamie was awarded the Bosshardt Community Service Award and the Bosshardt Company Service Award. Jamie has been a special education teacher in Clay and Alachua Counties and has taught at Santa Fe Community College. She is a past President of the Children's Home Society Auxiliary, she is on the board of directors for CHS as well as on the Bosshardt Community Action Board. Jamie is also the Co Chair of the Annual Charity Bosshardt Golf Tournament. In 2006, 2007 and 2008 this tournament raised over 200,000.00 for the PALS Charity. Jamie is married to Sam Coons and has two boys that are in the Alachua County School System and involved in various sports through the YMCA and the Boys Club. The entire family enjoys water sports and both boys participate in wakeboarding competitions throughout the south.

Jamie has an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Education from the University of North Florida.
